Vorwort / Preface Sehr geehrte Gäste, liebe Züchter und Freunde des Arabischen Pferdes, Herzlich Willkommen zum 3.Berlin Cup, der Internationalen B-Schau und dem Ägyptercup. Ich freue mich, dass Sie meiner Einladung gefolgt sind, Ihre Pferde unserem Internationalen Züchterkreis und den Richtern vorzustellen. Wir alle wissen, wie viel züchterische Arbeit, Zeit und Mühen notwendig sind, um ein Pferd bis hier hin zu bringen. Nicht zu vergessen der nicht unerhebliche finanzielle Aufwand. Trotz alledem lebt unser Zuchtgeschehen von solchen Zusammenkünften, Züchtertreffen, Vergleichen und dem Austauschen von Erfahrungen. Das heißt, Sie alle haben den Erfolg dieser Veranstaltung und dem persönlichen gemeinsamen Nutzen in Ihren Händen. Ich wünsche allen Teilnehmern viel Glück und Erfolg, allen Gästen und Zuschauern interessante und erlebnisreiche Tage. Lassen Sie sich von der temperamentvollen Eleganz und Schönheit der Arabischen Pferde begeistern, die schon in der Antike die Menschen faszinierte. An dieser Stelle möchte ich allen, die an dieser Schau aktiv teilnehmen und allen denjenigen, die diese Schau ermöglichen und zu einem Erlebnis werden lassen, besonders herzlich danken. Teilnahmeberechtigung B-Schau / Conditions of entry B-Show Diese Schau findet unter ECAHO-Regeln (Rules for Conduct of shows) statt, das Blue Book 2014 ist vollumfänglich gültig. Startberechtigt sind alle Vollblutaraber, die zum Nennschluß in einem WAHO-anerkannten Stutbuch registriert sind. Der Nennung muss entweder ein entsprechendes Registrierungszertifikat oder ein Brief des Stutbuchs beigefügt sein welcher bestätigt, dass die Registrierung des Pferdes bis zum Datum der Schau abgeschlossen sein wird. Allen Nennungen muss diese Bestätigung sowie eine Kopie des Pferdepasses mit einer grafischen Darstellung des Pferdes (ausländische Pferde) und einer Chipnummer zur Identifizierung beigefügt sein. Keinem Pferd ist das Betreten des Schaurings gestattet, solange nicht sein Name und alle anderen relevanten Daten im Schaukatalog abgedruckt sind. Nennformulare ohne gültige Unterschrift und ohne Kopie des Registrierungszertifikates sind ungültig. Titel-oder A-Schau Champions (Gold und Silber) dürfen für den Rest des Kalenderjahres und die beiden folgenden Jahre nicht an der Schau teilnehmen, außer sie wechseln von einer Junior- in eine Seniorklasse. Jeder, der ein überqualifiziertes Pferd nennt, muss eine Strafe in Höhe von € 600 zahlen und wird disqualifiziert. This show is governed by the ECAHO Rules for Conduct of Shows, the Blue Book 2014 is fully applicable. The Show is open to horses that are registered in any WAHO recognized studbook by the closing date of entry. Entries must either present a relevant registration certificate or enclosed with the entry, a letter by the register confirming that the registration will be completed by the date of the show. All the entries must be accompanied by these documents and a copy of the passport of the horse, including a graphic description (foreign horses) and a chip number to check the identity of the horses. No horse will be permitted to enter the show ring unless its name and all other relevant details have been printed in the catalogue. Entry forms without a valid signature and a copy of the registration certificate are void. Title Show or A Show Champion Gold and Silver medal winners are not allowed to take part in the show show for the rest of that calendar year and the two calendar years following, unless the horse has passed from a junior to a senior category. Richtsystem B-Schau / Judging System B-Show Die Richter richten jede Klasse unabhängig voneinander ohne Katalog nach folgenden Kriterien: Typ, Kopf und Hals, Gebäude und Oberlinie, Fundament, Bewegung. Vergeben werden für alle Kriterien 1-20 Punkte, halbe Punkte sind erlaubt. Fohlen im Alter von 1-6 Monaten müssen bei Fuß der Mutter gezeigt werden. Das Vorführen der Fohlen muß an der Hand erfolgen. Bei der Einzelvorstellung dürfen Sie in Bewegung freigelassen werden, damit die Gänge ungezwungen gezeigt werden können. Fohlen werden nicht nach dem oben beschriebenen Richtsystem bewertet, sondern gemeinsam von den Richtern vergleichend gerichtet, d.h. die Richter notieren gemeinsam die Rangierung in der Klasse. Regeln bei Punktgleichheit Bei Punktgleichheit der fünfplazierten ersten Pferde entscheidet die jeweils höchste Typnote über die Plazierung. Wenn dennoch Punktgleichheit besteht, wird die höchste Bewegungsnote herangezogen. Liegt nun noch immer eine Punktgleichheit vor, so werden die entsprechenden Pferde noch einmal vergleichend gerichtet.

Richtsystem für die Championate 1. Die Championate werden folgendermaßen gerichtet: a. Erstplazierte Pferde werden nach dem Alter aufgestellt, die zweitplazierten Pferde dahinter in der gleichen Reihenfolge. b. Die Pferde werden einzeln im Stand und Trab beurteilt. c. Der Gold-Champion wird aus den erstplatzierten Pferden der entsprechenden Klassen gewählt. d. Der Silber- und Bronze-Champion werden gleichzeitig aus allen anderen Pferden gewählt, welche sich für das Championat qualifiziert haben. Die nominierten Pferde erhalten Punkte nach dem folgenden Schema: Ein Pferd, welches von einem Richter für den Gold-Champion nominiert wurde, erhält 4 Punkte Ein Pferd, welches von einem Richter für den Silber-Champion nominiert wurde, erhält 2 Punkte Ein Pferd, welches von einem Richter für den Bronze-Champion nominiert wurde, erhält 1 Punkt Der Titel Gold-Champion wird dem Pferd verliehen, welches die höchste Championats-Punktzahl erreicht. Der Titel des Silber-Champions wird dem Pferd mit der zweithöchsten Championats-Punktzahl verliehen. Der Titel des Bronze-Champions wird dem Pferd mit der dritthöchsten Championats-Punktzahl verliehen. Im Falle einer weiteren Punktgleichheit finden die „Regeln für Punktegleichheit in Championaten“ Anwendung. Die Richter dürfen nicht miteinander sprechen. 2. Ein viertes Pferd wird gewählt, welches im Falle einer Disqualifikation eines der anderen 3 Medaillengewinner die Bronzemedaille bekommt. Sollte dieses nicht aus den Wahlzetteln der Richter hervorgehen, so werden diese gebeten, eines zu nominieren. Dieses Pferd wird nicht bekanntgegeben. Im Falle, dass zwei oder mehr Medaillengewinner disqualifiziert werden, rückt kein weiteres Pferd nach. 3. Wenn ein Pferd, welches in seiner Klasse erstplatziert war, nicht in der Lage sein sollte, am Championat teilzunehmen, so rückt das zweitplatzierte Pferd der Klasse auf und wird mit den anderen erstplatzierten Pferden gerichtet. Sollte ein erstplaziertes Pferd aus irgendeinem Grund von den Richtern aus dem Ring gewiesen werden wird davon ausgegangen, es habe am Championat teilgenommen, und deshalb kann das Zweitplazierte nicht mit den anderen Erstplazierten gerichtet werden. Das Ersetzen abwesender erst- oder zweitplatzierter Pferde durch dritt- oder niedriger platzierte Pferde ist nicht erlaubt. 4. Alle Pferde, die sich für ein Championat qualifizieren, müssen daran teilnehmen. Nichtteilnahme ohne Attest des DC-Tierarztes zieht die Disqualifizierung des Pferdes nach sich sowie die Streichung aller Ergebnisse und Platzierungen; weiterhin wird das Pferd vom Datum der entsprechenden Schau an für den Zeitraum von einem Jahr von Schauen ausgeschlossen. Im Falle einer Disqualifizierung rückt das hinter dem disqualifizierten Pferd stehende Pferd in der Klasse um einen Rang vor, aber dritt- und niedriger platzierte Pferde können nicht am Championat teilnehmen.

Judges judge each class independently from one another and without catalogue according to the following criteria: type, head and neck, body and topline, legs, movement, based on the 20-points-system (half points allowed). The points awarded by the judges will be added and divided by the number of judges. Foals aged 1-6 months must be shown at foot with the dam. Foals must be show in-hand, during the individual presentation they might be left loose to show their movement. The comparative judging system is used. Rules for Ties in Qualifying Places In the event of a tie in the qualifying places of a class, the higher place will be given to the horse with the most points for type. If there is still a tie, the higher place will be given to the horse with the most points for movement. Failing a decision on either of these, one judge chosen by ballot will name his preference. Rules for Championships 1. The Championships will be judged as follows: a. The horses placed first in their class line up ordered according to age. The horses placed second in their class line up behind them in the same order. b. The horses will be judged individually, standing and trotting. c. The Champion Gold medal winner is selected from amongst the horses placed first in their class.

d. The Silver and Bronze medal winners will be selected at the same time from all other horses that have qualified for the Championship. Points will be given to the nominated horses as follows: A horse nominated by a judge for Gold Medal will receive 4 points A horse nominated by a judge for Silver Medal will receive 2 points A horse nominated by a judge for Bronze Medal will receive 1 point The Gold Medal will be awarded to the horse with the highest number of championship points. The Silver Medal will be awarded to the horse with the 2nd highest number of championship points. The Bronze Medal will be awarded to the horse with the 3rd highest number of championship points In the case of a tie, the Rules for Ties in championships will be followed. The judges will not discuss the horses. 2. A fourth horse will be selected, which will become the Bronze medal winner should one of the three medal winners be disqualified. If this exhibit is not apparent from the voting papers, the judges will be asked to nominate one. This horse will not be announced. In the event that two or more of the medal winners are disqualified, no further substitution will be made. 3. If a horse placed first in its class is not able to take part in the Championship, the horse placed second in the class will move forward and be judged with the other horses placed first. Should a horse placed first be sent out of the ring by the judges or taken out by the handler for any reason, it will be deemed to have taken part in the championship and, therefore, the second placed horse will not be judged with the other first placed horses. Substitutions for absent first-placed or second-placed horses by third-placed or lower-ranked horses will not be permitted. 4. All horses that qualify for their respective Championships must take part in the Championship. Unless a certificate from the DC veterinarian is produced, failure to compete will disqualify the horse from the show, with its record of score and class placing being deleted and the horse being disqualified from showing for the period of one year as from the date of the show. In the event of a disqualification, horses placed behind the disqualified horse will move up a place in the class but third or lower placed horses will not be entitled to enter the Championship.

Die Fohlenklassen sind offen für Fohlen ab dem Alter von 4 Wochen, geboren in 2015. Bei zu geringer Beteiligung behält sich der Veranstalter vor, Klassen sowie ggf. Championate zusammenzufassen bzw. ausfallen zu lassen. Folgende Ausscheidungen werden für beide Schauen durchgeführt: Championat für Jährlingsstuten und -hengste, Championat für Juniorstuten und -hengste, Championat für Seniorstuten und -hengste, Best in Show jeweils für Stuten und Hengste (aus allen Gold Medal Champions), Bestes in Deutschland gezogenes Pferd, Beste teilnehmende Nation, Bester Vererberhengst (anhand der teilnehmenden Nachzucht).

Foal classes are open to foals aged 4 weeks and older born in 2015. If the entry numbers are too low, the above mentioned classes might be subject to change. Classes or Championships may be merged or cancelled. The following competitions will be conducted for both show: Championship for each Yearling Females and Yearling Males, Championships for each Junior Females and Junior Males, Championship for each Senior Females and Senior Males, Best in Show for both Mares and Stallions (out of all Gold Medal Champions), Best Horse bred in Germany, Best Competing Nation, Best Sire Award (according to the participating offspring).

Allgemeine Bestimmungen / General Conditions 1. Die Teilnehmer unterwerfen sich den auf die Schauveranstaltung beschränkten und auf der Grundlage der in der Ausschreibung festgelegten Bewertungssystems getroffenen Entscheidungen der Richter. Diese sind vom Veranstalter eingeladen, ehrenamtlich tätig und nicht Beauftragte der Zuchtverbände, denen Sie angehören. 2. Alle Pferde müssen frei sein von ansteckenden Krankheiten und aus einem seuchenfreien Bestand kommen. Sie müssen wirksam gegen Influenza geimpft sein. Der Impfpass ist vor Ort vorzulegen und dem Nennungsformular ist eine Kopie des Impfpasses beizulegen. Bei fehlen des Passes ist der zuständige Tierarzt ermächtigt, eine kostenpflichtige Untersuchung durchzuführen. Der Veranstalter ist berechtigt, nach Entscheidung des Tierarztes Pferde in Quarantäne zu verweisen. 3. Transportkostenentschädigung wird nicht gezahlt. 4. Boxenreservierung sind zusammen mit der Nennung abzugeben und werden nur dann berücksichtigt, wenn das Stallgeld in Höhe von 150.- Euro pro Box gezahlt ist, inkl. erstem Einstreu (Stroh), Späne auf Anfrage. 5. Der Veranstalter haftet nicht für Schäden und Unfälle an Teilnehmern, Pferdepflegern, Zuschauern und Zubehör. Ebenso lehnt er jede Haftung für etwa vorkommende Diebstähle ab. 6. Das Nenngeld beträgt für alle Klassen: 130.- Euro pro Pferd. Dieses sind im Vorraus zu entrichten, andernfalls behält sich der Veranstalter vor, Pferde von der Schau auszuschließen. Für verspätet eingehende Meldungen wird vom Veranstalter eine zusätzliche Gebühr von 50.- Euro erhoben. 7. Die Vorführer sollen ordentlich gekleidet sein, die Vorführer dürfen keine Kleidungstücke tragen, die einen Hinweis auf das vorgeführte Pferd geben könnte. Die Pferde sind mit Lederzaumzeug oder leichtem Halfter vorzustellen. Hengste im Alter von 3 Jahren und darüber müssen mit geeignetem Zaum und Gebiss vorgeführt werden. 8. Gerätschaften zur Versorgung der Pferde sind mit zubringen. 9. Im Ring darf sich nur ein Schauvorführer und ein weiterer Handlerassistent pro Pferd befinden. 10. Alle Pferde können stichprobenartig auf die Verwendung von verbotenen Substanzen getestet werden. Ist das Ergebnis positiv, gehen die Kosten zu Lasten des Pferdebesitzers. Von allen Ausstellern wird erwartet, dass sie sich entsprechend der Regeln des ethischen Schauverhaltens auf dem Gelände bewegen. Sie werden hierfür für sich selbst und Ihre Vorführer verantwortlich gemacht. Entscheidungen des Schaukomitees, der Richter, des Disziplinarkomitees und der eingesetzten Stewards sind endgültig. Sie sind nicht haftbar für die Folgen den von Ihnen getroffenen Entscheidungen. 11. Startnummer als Brust- und Rückennummer werden vom Veranstalter gegen ein Pfand von 10.- Euro ausgegeben. 12. Der Veranstalter übernimmt keine Haftung bei Unglücksfällen, Diebstahl, Feuer oder Schäden anderer Art. Das Betreten der Bon homme-Gestütsanlage erfolgt auf eigene Gefahr. Die Eintragungen in allen Teilen des Kataloges erfolgen ohne Gewähr. Irrtümer vorbehalten. Gewährleistungs- und Regressansprüche aus Katalogeintragungen und -text gegenüber dem Schauorganisator, bzw. dem Erstelter des Kataloges, sind daher ausdrücklich ausgeschlossen. Nachdruck, auch Auszugsweise, ist nicht gestattet. Den Weisungen der Ordner u. der Organisationsleitung ist Folge zu leisten.

Allgemeine Bestimmungen / General Conditions 1. Participants submit themselves to the judges‘ decisions that are limited to that particular show event and based on the classification system fixed in the schedule. Judges and officials are invited by the organizer, they work honorary and are not representatives of the societies they belong to. 2. All horses must be free from infections and from a home stock free of epidemic diseases. They must be effectively vaccinated against Influeza. The Vaccination Certificate must be presented at the show and a copy of the Vaccination Certificate has to be attached to the entry form. In case of a missing Vaccination Certificate the veterinarian on duty is allowed to examine the horse, liable for the costs is the owner of the horse. Any horse may be quarantined at the discretion of the veterinarian. 3. No compensation for transportation costs will be granted 4. Reservations for stabling must be send together with the entry form and will only be considered if the fee of Euro 150.- is payed. First beddingis included (straw), wood chippings on request. 5. The Organiser is not liable for damages and accidents to participants, grooms, audience or fittings, nor are they liable for theft. 6. The entry fee for the show is: Euro 130.- per horse. The fee has to be payed in advance, otherwise horses might be excluded from the show at the discretion of the organizer. For late entries an additional fee of Euro 50.- will be charged. 7. Handlers will be neatly dressed. Handlers will not wear clothes which disclose the connection of the horse they are handling. Horses will be shown wearing leather bridles or show bridles. Stallions aged three years and over must be shown wearing bridles and bits that are both secure and comfortable for the horse. 8. Stable equipment has to be provided by the exhibitors. 9. Only one handler and one handler assistant per horse is allowed in the ring. 10. All participating horses may be medication tested randomly. In case the result is positive, costs have to be carried by the owner of the horse. All exhibitors will be expected to conduct themselves in the spirit of the rules of ethical show behaviour and will be held responsible for themselves and their handlers. Decisions of the show committee, judges, Disciplinary Committee and Ring Steward are definite. They are not liable for consequences of their decisions. 11. Exhibit numbers will be distributed from the Organiser’s office for a deposit of Euro 10.-. 12. The organisers shall not be liable for death, injury, disease or damage to any person, horse or property however caused. Entering the property of Bon homme Stud and it’s facilities is at own risk. All catalog entries are subject to change, there is no limit or warranty. Therefore any warranty claims aganst the organizer or the person responsible for the catalgogue are explicitely excluded. Reprint, even partly, is not allowed. Instructions of officials and organizer have to be complied with.

ECAHO Rules for Conduct of Shows - Blue Book 2014 1. By participating at a show, show organisers, judges, exhibitors, owners and handlers agree that they will unconditionally submit themselves and the persons assisting and accompanying them to the „Rules for Conduct of Shows“ and, as regards veterinary matters and drug misuse, to the relevant ECAHO Veterinary Regulations and ECAHO Rules for Medication Control. The accompanying persons include e.g. trainers or persons representing the show organizer as well as assistants of any of those persons. They will accept the jurisdiction of the Disciplinary Committee (DC), the Standing Disciplinary Committee (SDC) and the ECAHO Appeals Committee (EAC). The person who has signed the entry form will be considered to be the person responsible for the horse in question. These Rules will be interpreted when necessary under the provisions of the laws of Switzerland. Show organisers are not permitted to introduce rules which are in conflict with the EAHSC „Rules for Conduct of Shows“. 2. Horses must be accompanied at the show by a horse passport containing all vaccination records. Those horses coming from a country that does not issue a passport, must be accompanied by an official Registration document which includes a graphic description and all vaccination records. If, when a horse attends a show, it’s passport is at the Registry for any reason, then a letter from the registrar attesting to this must be provided along with a photo-copy of the passport, including the description and the vaccination records.

The show organizer 3. The show organiser reserves the right to refuse an entry, but must give the reason for refusal in writing. 4. The show organizer will issue a printed show catalogue. The name of every horse must be printed in the show catalogue, as well as the names of sire and dam, (and maternal grandsire if possible), date of birth, colour, the names of the breeder and the owner. Should a horse’s name not be mentioned in the catalogue, its participation at the show will be allowed only if the exhibitor cannot be blamed for the omission; it will be for the DC to decide. The show catalogue shall furthermore contain: • The names of all the Officials, • The Rules for Conduct of Shows, • The judging system used, the rules for ties and the rules for championships • For Shows where prize money is awarded the total amount and distribution of the prize money. 5. No class may be split unless there are more than 16 horses entered. Combination of a class with the next age group of the same sex is permitted if the number of entries for the class is below three. 6. a) No announcement indicating the identity, breeding or past performance of exhibits, or the identity of their owners will be made during judging. It is, however, permissible for this information to be given out after the judges score sheets have been collected for each exhibit. b) Show organisers will not release details of competitors or their exhibits to the press at any time prior to the catalogue being put on sale at the showground. Catalogues will not be offered for sale, published or posted on internet more than one day before the commencement of the show. 7. No member of the show organising team may judge, or officiate as member of the Disciplinary Committee. 8. The show organizers will ensure a proper rotation of judges. 9. The show organiser will provide appropriate transport, accommodation and meals during the show, for the judges, DC members, ring master and any other ECAHO show officials. If a judge, DC member or ring master cancels the invitation after the travel arrangements have been made, he will pay all the costs arising out of this booking. 10. No gifts in the form of fees or money are allowed to be paid or given by the organiser, nor accepted by the judges, DC members and ring masters. Material gifts are allowed.

Judges 11. EAHSC listed judges and judges invited to judge at ECAHO affiliated shows agree to judge with integrity and honesty and to carry out their judging duties solely with the objects of ECAHO and the welfare of the horses in mind. 12. Judges will not consult the show catalogue before or during the show at which they are judging. 13. a) Judges appointed at a show will not knowingly judge horses concerning which there may be an actual or apparent conflict of interest. No judge appointed at the show may exhibit, ride, drive or handle an entered horse. b) Exhibitors will declare on the entry form any actual or apparent conflict or interest with any of the judges invited for the show. Any exhibitor not declaring an existing conflict of interest will forfeit all entry fees and will be prevented from showing the horse. c) Organisers will not accept any entries for which any actual or apparent conflict of interest with one of the appointed judges has been indicated, unless a reserve judge is available. 14. An actual or apparent conflict of interest may occur if a horse is judged that: • is being trained or handled by a member of the judge’s family • has been bought or sold by the judge either as owner or agent, • is owned in whole or part by the judge or by a member of the judge‘s family, or business partner in an Arab horse business venture, • has been leased by the judge, at any time • has been bred by the judge or is the property of a breeding organization in which the judge is or was an employee, • has been regularly trained, examined or treated by the judge in a professional capacity, • is the subject of an on-going negotiation to buy or lease, or a provisional purchase condition to which the judge is a party. In case of doubt, the DC’s decision will prevail. Any judge may decline to judge any horse if they consider themselves to have a conflict of interests concerning that horse. 15. In the show ring, all communication between judges and handlers prior to the presentation of prizes will be through the ring master. 16. Judges may withhold any award if in their opinion the exhibit does not merit such an award. 17. The judge, or if more than one, the panel of judges may request that the ring master show a handler a yellow or red card if they consider that there is abuse to a horse or that there is misconduct. Conduct of Halter Classes 18. All handlers at A and Title Shows must be in possession of a valid handlers permit which they must present to the DC in order to participate in the Show. 19. Handlers will be neatly dressed. They may wear any costume normally worn in their country of origin. Handlers will not wear clothes carrying any form of advertising which discloses the connection of the horse they are handling. 20. The judge(s) may request that the ringmaster order unruly horses to be withdrawn. 21. The judge(s) may request that the ringmaster ask a handler to open a horse‘s mouth or pick up its feet for inspection. 22. Exhibits are to be judged standing, walking and trotting. Handlers who do not comply with the ring master‘s instructions regarding the above may be given a Yellow/Red card by the ring master. 23. a) Horses will appear in the collecting ring no less than 10 minutes before the start of the class. b) Exhibits that appear late (missing the walk around the ring) will be excluded from the class.

24. Stallions and colts aged three years and over may be shown wearing bridles and bits that are both secure and comfortable for the horse. All bridles without bits are equally to be both secure and comfortable for the horse. Any horse that is not under control will be removed from the show ring and disqualified. 25. a) Any horse becoming loose in the collecting ring is subject to a penalty (of a fine not exceeding 100 €) at the discretion of the DC. b) Any horse becoming loose in the show ring will immediately continue to be shown and is subject to a penalty (of a fine not exceeding 100€) at the discretion of the DC. Should the horse become loose a second time it will be disqualified. 26. spare Soundness 27. Exhibits that appear to be lame may be assessed and placed by the judges. Judges may exclude any horse so lame that assessment will inflict pain. 28. spare Disguising of Exhibits 29. No alteration of the basic colour of the skin, coat or hooves is permitted. Hoof paints, colourless varnishes, coat dyes, glitter spray and cosmetic operations including skin grafts are forbidden. Colourless hoof oils, Vaseline or oil and white chalk used on white legs will be accepted. 30. Artificial methods of dilating the eyes or affecting the natural action of the horse or otherwise influencing its action or behaviour by oxygenating the bloodstream or by the use of weights or artificially weighted shoes, or by electrical or chemical treatment of any kind at any time before or during exhibition are forbidden. Burns, cuts or other marks on the body of any exhibit in such places or positions as to indicate that prohibited methods have been used will be regarded as full and adequate grounds for exclusion of any exhibit from competition, at the discretion of the DC with veterinary advice. 31. a) In halter classes horses may be fully or partly body-clipped, subject to eyelashes being left uncut, hair inside the ears left unshaved and tactile hair left intact around the nose, muzzle and the eyes. Horses not fulfilling these criteria will not be allowed to participate. “Balding” is not encouraged. b) No equipment intended to alter the natural appearance of the horse is permitted in the stables, including necksweats, neck collars, tailracks, hobbles or weights. Anyone using such equipment on the showground may be suspended by the DC for the period of the show. 32. spare Cruelty 33. Excessive whipping or shanking, excessive stimulation by noise, excessive circling of the horse, intimidation, use of electric shock devices and infliction of pain by any means are forbidden in all parts of the showground or stable areas, at all times. 34. The above actions will be sanctioned. Enforcement 35. Verbal warnings: DC members, ringmasters, stewards or show officials may issue verbal warnings. These are not recorded in the DC report. 36. Yellow and red cards may be issued by DCs and Ringmaster in the collecting ring and the main ring. They are issued to a handler and are a visible and public indication of an offence having been committed. The date and offence will be recorded in the DC report and must be made public by announcement at the show and/or on the ECAHO website and/ or other usual means of communication of ECAHO.

37. A yellow Card may be issued if there is a further offence after a warning or it may be issued without such warning. 38. A red Card will be issued if the handler receives a second yellow card for having committed a further handling offense during the same show. The offender will then be banned from handling any horses for the rest of the show in which he receives the red card. The horse being shown by a handler when he receives a red card may be shown by another handler at the end of the class. In the event of a serious offence involving mistreatment or dangerous behaviour, DCs may issue a red card without prior warning. 39. Any handler disobeying the instructions of any DC member, judge or the ringmaster will be sanctioned. Such sanction can be visibly and publicly indicated with yellow and red cards. Veterinary Matters 40. Horses with apparent clinical signs of a disease may not participate at the show at the discretion of the DC Veterinarian. If the DC Veterinarian diagnoses apparent clinical signs of a contagious disease, the horse must be immediately put into quarantine and may not participate at the show. 41. Vaccination regulations for shows will require 12 months intervals normally, or shorter where local/national authorities mandate it. Such shorter intervals to be shown on the entry form (see Addendum – Equine Influenza Vaccination page 43). 42. All Veterinary treatment necessary at the show ground must be carried out according to ECAHO Veterinary regulations. The person responsible for the horse will ask the vet who treats the horse to complete a treatment form and present it to the DC-vet at the show. Any treatment given to a horse immediately prior to a show should be recorded on a treatment form by the treating vet and presented to the DC upon arrival at the show. 43. a) The administration of any substance not a normal nutrient (including irritants applied to the skin or mucous membranes or mydriatic drugs in the eyes), whether intentionally or unintentionally which may affect the performance, temperament or soundness of an exhibit is forbidden. b) The DC may order chemical tests on any exhibit. c) Judges may request the DC to test any horse. (See the section on “Medication Control” page 34).

Complaints 44. A show organiser, appointed judge, ring master, exhibitor, owner or handler of a horse entered at the show may lodge a complaint alleging infringement of the rules of the EAHSC, contained in the “Blue Book”. A complaint concerning a horse or handler is to be made in writing within 1 hour of the alleged infringement occurring. Any other complaint, except concerning a complaint about a judge or any other official including show organisers, is to be made in writing before the end of the show. A deposit of € 200,- or equivalent in local currency will be lodged with the DC and may be retained at the DCs discretion, if the complaint is considered frivolous,. Such forfeiture belongs to ECAHO. 45. Any complaint about a judge or any other official including the show organisers is to be made in writing and signed by two individuals. Such complaint must contain any evidence and be sent to the ECAHO executive Secretary with full name and postal address of the complainant within 3 days of the show. A deposit of € 300 must be paid in accordance with the instructions and deadline given by the Executive Secretary. The investigation of the complaint will be conducted in accordance with the Rules for Disciplinary Committees, articles 19 et seq.
