From Munich Airport by Car ‐ 2 hours (148km) 1. Take the exit for München (Munich)/Alles richtungen (all directions) when leaving the airport terminals, to merge onto the A92. 2. Turn off onto the A9 (signposted for München) until you pick up signs for Garmisch‐P. and the A95. The route follows the Mittlerer ring road through Munich. 3. Once out of Munich keep following the A95 and then turn off for the B23 towards Garmisch (not Innsbruck!). This road continues straight through Garmischand over the border into Austria. 4. Continue on this road (now the B187) until you reach a T‐junction under a viaduct. Turn left onto the main street Hauptstrasse, signposted Ehrwald. 5. From Munich Airport by Rail ‐ 3 hours (see www.bahn.com for train times) 1. From the aiport take the S‐bahn to München‐Pasing station. 2. Take a train to Garmisch‐Partenkirchen (destinations Mittenvel or Innsbruck). From Garmisch‐Partenkirchen take a train to Ehrwald (destination Reuter in Tyrol). (From Ehrwald Train Station ‐ 25 min walk/5 min Taxi*) 3. Upon alighting the train, exit across the tracks towards the bus shelter and the housing beyond. 4. Continue to head straight across at this road junction, along Bahnhofstrasse for 400m, passing the Hotel Feneberg on your right, and this will merge with the main street Hauptstrasse coming from the right. 5. Continue along Hauptstrasse into the centre of the village, picking up the instructions below of how to find Hotel Sonnenspitze. * If you are arriving by train and need a taxi from the train station you can book a taxi with ‘Shuttle & More…’ It’s a 5 minute drive to Hotel Sonnenspitze – They offer a 24 hour service with excellent English and cost about €5 – €10. After leaving the airport proximity follow get on the A96, via Augsberg Strasse and continue to follow signs for Füssen and the A7. Once on the A7 continue past Kempten and Füssen and over the border into Austria. Continue straight on the B179 towards Reutte and the Fernpass. Exit onto the B187 and continue through the village of Lermoos. At the edge of Ehrwald you reach a railway viaduct and bear right onto the main street Hauptstrasse, signposted Ehrwald. How to find Hotel Sonnenspitze in Ehrwald Hotel Sonnenspitze is opposite the main church in the centre of the village. From the viaduct, follow the main street Hauptstrasse for 1 km into the centre of the village, passing the Spar supermarket on your right and the bus stops to your left. After rounding the corner past Hotel Stern, take the left turn next to the Tyrolia book shop (signposted for the Ehrwalder Almbahn). Follow this one‐ way street Kirchplatz for 150m and the Hotel Sonnenspitze is on the right hand side across from the painted church. From Hotel Sonnenspitze back to Munich Airport by car – 2 hours (148km) 1. From Hotel Sonnenspitze go down the one‐way street past the bus stops and turn right. Turn right again at the edge of Ehrwald under the viaduct (signposted for Garmisch‐Partenkirchen). 2. Continue straight through Garmisch, following signs for the A95 and München. 3. Follow the A95 into Munich, where you will pick up airplane symbols for the airport. 4. Keep left at the first tunnel to join the Mittlerer ring road. 5. Following the airplane symbols or signs to Nürnberg will take you past the distinctive Olympic Park on your right on to the A9. 6. Continue on the A9 out of the city, past The Allianz Arena football ground. 7. At interchange 68 (Kreuz Neufahrn), use the right 2 lanes join the A92 toward Münich‐Franz‐Josef‐Strauß Airport. 8.
