The GIGA German Institute of Global and Area Studies / Leibniz-Institut für Globale und Regionale Studien seeks to hire a post-doctoral research fellow (preferably in Political Science) / network coordinator within the framework of the international research network “IDCAR – International Diffusion and Cooperation of Authoritarian Regimes” funded by the Joint Initiative for Research and Innovation of the Leibniz Association. Applications are invited for a full-time position, with a contract of 3 years, starting 1 July 2014. The salary is commensurate with TV-AVH / TVöD EG 13. The successful candidate will be the central coordinator of the network’s activities. In addition, s/he will contribute to the GIGA-based research of the IDCAR network in the context of GIGA Research Programme 1, “Legitimacy and Efficiency of Political Systems”. Desired qualifications are - a doctoral degree in Political Science or a related field - strong administrative, organisational and communication skills, experience in collaborative international research would be an asset - experience, including on-site research experience, in comparative politics and/or international relations of authoritarian regimes - a very good command of English and working knowledge of German The reconciliation of work and family life is of great importance to the institute.
